Our Compassionate Staff Teach Our Boarding School Students a Better Way to Live
Gateway Boys Academy serves teenagers ages 11 to 17 who have made rebellious choices in life. Our military school is in the panhandle of Florida, and our academy is reachable from Vidalia, Georgia and cities around the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we believe in demonstrating the love of God to each and every cadet, surrounding him with compassionate care. A number of our staff have been in your shoes, either having completed a similar program themselves or having enrolled a teen of their own in our military school in the past.
Boys are Transformed through Our Military School
Boys start in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to orderliness and chores surround them with structure and establish order in their lives.
At Gateway, boys realize they can stop struggling against authority and begin to grow in confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive instead of their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, earning privileges and responsibilities along the way. The highest level student is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Academic Success through First-Rate Curriculum and Passionate Teachers.
Most boys who were failing or falling behind not just catch up but pull ahead. Gateway meets all requirements by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they graduate our academic program. Our school operates all year long as students work at their own pace through high-quality curriculum and certified teachers. Our high standards allow transfers to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
Boys Discover a New Relationship with God, Direction and Purpose In Life
We emphasize spiritual life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus Christ and strive to maintain a Godly atmosphere conducive to Christian growth. Students attend group Bible studies, go to chapel twice weekly, and work with a counselor to pursue individually assigned Bible studies designed for character development.
Family Restoration is Our Hallmark
At Gateway Boys Academy, we give attention to family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend seminars for teaching on boundaries and positive parenting.
Most boys in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to turn his life around, please consider Gateway.
Although it is not located in Vidalia, Georgia, Gateway may be just the environment your boy needs to create a positive change. We invite you to call or fill in our inquiry form for our boarding school today.

Vidalia, is a city in Toombs and very slightly into Montgomery counties in the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2000 census, the city population was 10,491. It is the largest city in Toombs, but is not the county seat. Like so many towns in the region, it grew up around a train depot that serviced farmers in the area who grew such crops as pecans and tobacco. The famous sweet onions were not an important crop until much later.
Although it has never been officially confirmed, it is believed by locals that the 1996 song Vidalia alludes to the Vidalia Sweet Onion crop with its lyrics “…sweet Vidalia, You always gotta make me cry!” While uncertainty remains about the song, Vidalia sweet onions have recently made a name for the town through national media and the Onions and Ogres advertisement campaign which features the cartoon ogre Shrek.
Vidalia is the principal city of the Vidalia Micropolitan Statistical Area, a micropolitan area that covers Montgomery and Toombs counties and had a combined population of 34,337 at the 2000 census.GR
