Students start in our basic training platoon with the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial months, physical exercise, a packed schedule, attention to neatness and chores give them structure and establish order in their lives.

At Gateway, boys begin to stop struggling against authority and begin to get confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as an alternative to their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, gaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The highest level student is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.

Gateway meets all requirements by Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas at the completion of our academic program. Our academy operates all year long as students study at their own speed through first-rate curriculum and certified teachers. Our high standards allow students to transfer back to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.

We emphasize spiritual life at Gateway Boys Academy. We strive to introduce every cadet to a relationship with Jesus Christ and strive to keep a Godly atmosphere favorable to Christian growth. Students attend group Bible studies, go to chapel twice weekly, and meet with a counselor to complete individually assigned Bible studies designed to build character.

At Gateway Boys Academy, we concentrate on family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend conferences to learn about boundaries and constructive parenting.
