Students begin in our basic training platoon with the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial months, physical exercise, a packed schedule, attention to orderliness and chores provide them with structure and establish order in their lives.

At Gateway, boys learn to stop struggling against authority and start to gain confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive instead of their previously destructive activities. In time, they promote to higher levels, obtaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The highest level student is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.

Most students who were failing or falling behind not only catch up but pull ahead. We meet all standards [set by Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they complete our academic program. School takes place year-round as students work at their own pace through high-quality curriculum and certified teachers. Our high standards allow transfers to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.

Boys Discover a New Relationship with God, Direction and Purpose In Life

Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We strive to introduce every cadet to a relationship with Christ and strive to create a Godly atmosphere helpful to Christian growth. Young men attend group Bible studies, go to chapel services twice weekly, and meet with a counselor to pursue individually assigned Bible studies intended for character growth.

Family Restoration is Our Hallmark

At Gateway Boys Academy, we give attention to family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend seminars for teaching on boundaries and effective parenting.
