Boys start in our basic training platoon beneath the supervision of drill instructors. For the first few months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to cleanliness and chores give them structure and establish order in their lives.

At Gateway, boys figure out how to stop struggling against authority and start to gain confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as opposed to their previously destructive activities. Eventually, they promote to higher levels, earning privileges and responsibilities in the process. The highest level student is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.

Most students who had been failing or falling behind not just catch up but pull ahead. We meet all standards [set by Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they graduate our academic program. School takes place all year long as students work at their own speed through first-rate curriculum and certified teachers. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.

Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus and strive to keep a Godly atmosphere encouraging to Christian growth. Boys attend group Bible studies, go to chapel services twice each week, and meet with a counselor to complete individually assigned Bible studies meant to build character.

At Gateway Boys Academy, we give attention to family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend seminars to learn about boundaries and positive parenting.
