Our Understanding, Staff Teach Our Students a Better Way to Live
Gateway Boys Academy serves teenagers ages 11 to 17 who have made rebellious choices in life. Our military school is situated in the panhandle of Florida, and our academy is accessible from Chilhowie, Virginia and cities throughout the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we believe in demonstrating the love of God to each student, surrounding him with compassionate care. Many of our staff have been in your situation, either having completed a similar program themselves or having enrolled a teen of their own in our military school in the past.
Boys are Transformed through our Christian Military School
Teens start in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial few months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to orderliness and chores provide them with structure and establish order in their lives.
At Gateway, boys learn to stop struggling against authority and begin to grow in confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as an alternative to their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, obtaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The upper level military school cadet is allowed to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Academic Success through High-Quality Curriculum and Skilled Teachers.
Most students who have been failing or falling behind not only get caught up but pull ahead. Gateway meets all qualifications by Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they complete our academic program. Our academy operates year-round as students work at their own pace through top-notch curriculum and certified teachers. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
Boys Discover a New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose In Life
We emphasize spiritual life at Gateway Boys Academy. We strive to introduce every cadet to a relationship with Jesus and strive to maintain a Godly atmosphere favorable to Christian growth. Young men attend group Bible studies, go to chapel services twice weekly, and spend time with a counselor to discuss individually assigned Bible studies designed to build character.
Family Restoration is Our Hallmark
At Gateway, we focus on family restoration. After four months, parents begin attending weekend seminars for teaching on boundaries and positive parenting.
Most students in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a desire for serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider Gateway.
