Trying to find a Military School for Troubled Teens in Waterbury, Connecticut to Help Your Teenage Son? Would You Consider One in Florida, Instead?
When given the structure and order of a military school, wayward teenage boys become respectful, confident leaders and responsible citizens. Gateway Boys Academy has the same discipline of a military school, but it is more caring. We are a military academy, an accredited school, and a working ranch and farm, as well as counseling and mentoring, competitive team sports, a spiritual emphasis, and hands-on outreach to help disadvantaged people in third-world countries. All of these are meant to bring change in a boy’s heart and life.
Like a Military School, It Sets the Stage for a New Start and a New Direction
Gateway Boys Academy accepts boys from across the nation, including from Waterbury, Connecticut. Over 1000 boys from each of the 50 states and other countries have changed the course of their lives at Gateway Boys Academy. Even though you might be searching near Waterbury, Connecticut for a very disciplined option for your boy, take into consideration that a prolonged separation from the peers and culture he’s being influenced by may be precisely what he needs.
Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Students a Better Way to Live
As part of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway Boys Academy serves boys ages 12 to 17 who have gone off-track with life. Our military school is in the panhandle of Florida, and our academy is accessible from Waterbury, Connecticut and cities around the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we focus on demonstrating the love of God to each and every cadet, surrounding him with compassionate care. A few of our staff have been in your place, either having completed a similar program themselves or having enrolled a child of their own in our military school in the past.
A Christian Boarding School that Paves the Way for Transformation
Boys start with a focus on responsibility and attitude adjustment under the supervision of drill instructors. For the first months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to cleanliness and chores give them structure and establish order in their lives. They figure out how to stop struggling against authority and begin to grow in confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive instead of their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, obtaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The trusted students are allowed to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Teaching the Importance of Academic Success
Classes run year-round as students work at their own speed through first-rate curriculum and certified teachers. Most boys who have been failing or falling behind not just catch up but get far ahead. Gateway meets all standards for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they complete our academic program. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction, and Purpose
The spiritual side of life is important at Gateway Boys Academy. We strive to introduce every cadet to a relationship with Christ and strive to maintain a Godly atmosphere favorable to Christian growth. Boys attend group sessions, and meet with a counselor to discuss individually assigned sessions designed for character development.
A Concentration on Family Restoration
At Gateway Boys Academy, we give attention to family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend seminars for training about boundaries, godly marriages, and effective parenting.
Most students in our program turn away from their self-focused behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider Gateway.
