Students begin in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. They figure out how to stop struggling against authority and start to gain confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive rather than their previously destructive activities. Eventually they promote to higher levels, acquiring privileges and responsibilities in the process. The senior level military school cadet is permitted to participate in off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Understanding the Importance of Academic Success
Our school operates all year round as students work at their own speed through top-notch curriculum and certified teachers. Most boys who were failing or falling behind not only get up to date but get far ahead. We meet all standards [set by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas at the completion of our academic program. Our high standards allow students to transfer back to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose
Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus and strive to establish a Godly atmosphere helpful to Christian growth. Young men attend group Bible studies, go to chapel services two times a week, and work with a counselor to discuss individually assigned Bible studies intended for character development.
A Concentration on Family Relationships
At Gateway, we focus on family restoration. After four months, parents begin attending weekend events for teaching on boundaries, healthy marriages, and positive parenting.
