Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Boarding School Students a Better Way to Live
As part of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway Boys Academy serves teenagers ages 11 to 17 who have chosen a dangerous path in life. Our boarding school is located in the panhandle of Florida, and our campus is accessible from Mobile, Alabama and cities around the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we focus on demonstrating the love of God to each student, surrounding him with compassionate care. Several of our staff have been in your place, either having been through a similar program themselves or having enrolled a teen of their own in our military school in the past.
A Christian Boarding School that Paves the Way for Transformation
Teens begin in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial few months, physical exercise, a packed schedule, attention to orderliness and chores give them structure and establish order in their lives. They begin to stop struggling against authority and begin to increase in confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive rather than their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, earning privileges and responsibilities in the process. The top level military school cadet is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Understanding the Importance of Academic Success
School takes place year round as students work at their own pace through top-notch curriculum and certified teachers. Most boys who were failing or falling behind not only catch up but get ahead. We meet all established by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas at the completion of our academic program. Our high standards allow transfers to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose
Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus Christ and strive to establish a Godly atmosphere encouraging to Christian growth. Boys attend group Bible studies, go to chapel services twice weekly, and meet with a counselor to pursue individually assigned Bible studies designed for character growth.
A Concentration on Family Relationships
At Gateway, we focus on family restoration. After four months, parents begin attending weekend seminars to learn about boundaries, strong marriages, and effective parenting.
Most students in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider Gateway, a Christian Boarding School.
Although not in Mobile, Alabama, it may be the type of environment he needs to produce a positive change. We invite you to call or submit our inquiry form for our boarding school today.
