Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Students a Better Way to Live
As a member of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway Boys Academy serves teenagers ages 11 to 17 who have gone off-track with life. Our military school is in the panhandle of Florida, and our school is accessible from Greensboro, North Carolina and cities throughout the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we believe in demonstrating the love of God to every cadet, surrounding him with compassionate care. A few of our staff have been in your situation, either having attended a similar program themselves or having enrolled a child of their own in our military school in the past.
Our Military School Paves the Way for Transformation
Boys start in our basic training platoon with the supervision of drill instructors. For the first few months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to cleanliness and chores surround them with structure and establish order in their lives. They realize they can stop struggling against authority and begin to get confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as opposed to their previously destructive activities. Over time, they promote to higher levels, obtaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The senior level military school cadet is allowed to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Teaching the Importance of Academic Success
Our academy operates year-round as students study at their own pace through first-rate curriculum and certified teachers. Most students who were failing or falling behind not only get up to date but pull ahead. Gateway meets all established by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they graduate our academic program. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction, and Purpose
Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We strive to introduce every cadet to a relationship with Christ and strive to keep a Godly atmosphere helpful to Christian growth. Students attend group Bible studies, go to chapel twice a week, and spend time with a counselor to discuss individually assigned Bible studies designed for character growth.
A Concentration on Family Relationships
At Gateway Boys Academy, we give attention to family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend events for teaching on boundaries, godly marriages, and positive parenting.
Most boys in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to put his life in order, please consider Gateway.

More about Christian military schools near Greensboro, North Carolina: Greensboro IPA-en is a city in the U.S. state of North Carolina. It is the third-largest city by population in North Carolina and the largest city in Guilford County and the surrounding Piedmont Triad metropolitan region. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, Greensboro’s population stands at 269,666. The city is located at the intersection of two major interstate highways in the Piedmont region of central North Carolina. In 2003, the previous Greensboro – Winston-Salem – High Point metropolitan statistical area (MSA) was re-defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, resulting in the formation of the Greensboro-High Point MSA and the Winston-Salem MSA. The 2010 population for the Greensboro-High Point MSA was 723,801. In 1808, Greensborough (as was the spelling prior to 1895) was planned around a central courthouse square to succeed the nearby town of Guilford Court House as the county seat. This act moved the county courts closer to the geographical center of the county, a location more easily reached by the majority of the county’s citizens. Much has changed since then. Greensboro has grown to be part of a thriving metropolitan area called the Triad, which encompasses three major cities (Greensboro, High Point, and Winston-Salem) and more than a million people. Greensboro evolved from a small center of government to an early 1900s textile and transportation hub, and today is emerging as one of the South’s up-and-coming centers for relocating businesses. Two centuries later Greensboro is still collecting accolades for its beauty and livability. In 2004 the Department of Energy (DOE) awarded Greensboro with entry into the Clean Cities Hall of Fame.
