Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Students a Better Way to Live
As part of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway serves boys ages 11 to 17 who have made rebellious choices in life. Our Christian military school is located in the panhandle of Florida.
While our program is very disciplined and structured, we believe in demonstrating the love of God to every cadet, surrounding him with compassionate care. A few of our staff have been in your place, either having completed a similar program themselves or having enrolled a teen in our school in the past.
A Christian Boarding School that Paves the Way for Transformation
Students begin in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. For the initial months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to orderliness and chores provide them with structure and establish order in their lives. They begin to stop struggling against authority and start to gain confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive instead of their previously destructive activities. In time, they promote to higher levels, obtaining privileges and responsibilities in the process. The senior level military school cadet is able to do off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Understanding the Importance of Academic Success
School takes place all year long as students work at their own speed through high-quality curriculum. Certified teachers give tutorial help as required. Using this system, most boys who were failing or falling behind not just get up to date but get ahead. We meet all requirements by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas at the completion of our academic program. Our high standards allow transfers to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose
Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Florida-based, Gateway. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus Christ and strive to create a Godly atmosphere conducive to Christian growth. Young men attend group Bible studies, go to chapel two times a week, and meet with a counselor for individually assigned Bible studies meant for character development.
Concentration on Family Restoration
At Gateway, we concentrate on family restoration. After four months, parents begin attending weekend events to learn about boundaries, godly marriages, and constructive parenting.
Many boys in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a lifetime of serving others. If your teenage boy needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider Gateway.
