Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Boarding School Students a Better Way to Live
As part of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway Boys Academy serves teenage boys ages 11 to 17 who have gone off-track with life. Our military school is in the panhandle of Florida, and our academy is reachable from El Paso, Texas and cities throughout the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we believe in demonstrating the love of God to each student, surrounding him with compassionate care. A few of our staff have been in your shoes, either having been through a similar program themselves or having enrolled a son of their own in our military school in the past.
Our Military School Paves the Way for Transformation
Students begin in our basic training platoon with the supervision of drill instructors. For the first months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to neatness and chores provide them with structure and establish order in their lives. They learn to stop struggling against authority and start to gain confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as opposed to their previously destructive activities. Eventually they promote to higher levels, acquiring privileges and responsibilities in the process. The upper level military school cadet is eligible for off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Learning the Importance of Academic Success
Classes run year-round as students work at their own pace through first-rate curriculum and certified teachers. Most students who had been failing or falling behind not only get caught up but pull ahead. We meet all requirements by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they graduate our academic program. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose
Spiritual life forms a large part of life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Christ and strive to create a Godly atmosphere helpful to Christian growth. Young men attend group Bible studies, go to chapel twice weekly, and meet with a counselor to complete individually assigned Bible studies meant to build character.
A Concentration on Family Restoration
At Gateway Boys Academy, we promote family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend seminars for teaching on boundaries, healthy marriages, and constructive parenting.
Most students in our program turn away from their self-destructive behavior to a life of serving others. If your teenager needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider Gateway, a Christian Boarding School.
Although not in El Paso, Texas, it could be the kind of environment he needs to generate a positive change. We invite you to call or complete our inquiry form for our boarding school today.
