Understanding, Compassionate Staff Teach Our Boarding School Students a Better Way to Live
As a member of the nationally recognized Teen Challenge program, Gateway Boys Academy serves young men ages 11 to 17 who have made rebellious choices in life. Our military school is situated in the panhandle of Florida, and our school is reachable from Allentown, Pennsylvania and cities throughout the nation. While the program is very disciplined and structured, we commit to demonstrating the love of God to every cadet, surrounding him with compassionate care. A number of our staff have been in your place, either having been through a similar program themselves or having enrolled a son of their own in our military school in the past.
Gateway Paves the Way for Transformation
Teens start in our basic training platoon under the supervision of drill instructors. For the first months, physical training, a packed schedule, attention to cleanliness and chores provide them with structure and establish order in their lives. They figure out how to stop struggling against authority and start to get confidence by mastering challenges that are constructive as an alternative to their previously destructive activities. In time, they promote to higher levels, gaining privileges and responsibilities as they move up. The highest level military school cadet is eligible for off-campus sports, outreaches, and travel.
Understanding the Importance of Academic Success
Our academy operates all year round as students work at their own speed through top-notch curriculum and certified teachers. Most students who have been failing or falling behind not just catch up but get far ahead. Gateway meets all established by the State of Florida for high school graduation, and students earn diplomas when they complete our academic program. Our high standards allow credits to transfer to public institutions or to go on to college or the military.
A New Spiritual Relationship, Direction and Purpose
We emphasize spiritual life at Gateway Boys Academy. We offer to every cadet a relationship with Jesus Christ and strive to create a Godly atmosphere encouraging to Christian growth. Students attend group Bible studies, go to chapel twice weekly, and work with a counselor for individually assigned Bible studies designed for character development.
A Concentration on Family Restoration
At Gateway, we focus on family restoration. After four months of enrollment for the cadet, parents begin attending weekend events for teaching on boundaries, healthy marriages, and positive parenting.
Most boys in our program turn from their self-destructive behavior to an attitude of serving others. If your son needs order and discipline to change his direction, please consider Gateway, a Christian Boarding School.
