If your teen shows unashamed disregard for authority, forever displays rebellious behavior, gets into regular and increasing trouble with the law, and shows no motivation in school, perhaps a boot camp will help bring him back to his senses.
Boot Camps in Wexford, Pennsylvania Can Help At-Risk Boys Learn to Respect Authority
Popular opinion gives military schools, especially boot camps, a reputation for making out-of-control teens get back on the straight and narrow path. In fact, there are several positive ways in which boot camps can help troubled teens. Boot camps give an intensive focus on discipline, personal responsibility and regard for authority. Programs like these can be a means of rescuing a teen who might otherwise ruin his life with crime. For those teens who respond well to it, boot camps can give them a new understanding of the consequences of their actions. For some teens, boot camps can initially help them move from self-defeating habits, to more manageable behavior. But those bad attitudes often return.
Boot Camps Can Help Troubled Boys Change their Behavior, But Many Teen Issues Go Beyond the Behavior
Although boot camps can help troubled teens in some cases, most adolescent issues are more complicated than they appear on the surface and are often only symptoms of other emotional problems. Boot camps rely entirely on forcing compliance; they do not offer the counseling or therapeutic input to help teens deal with the true root issues. For teens exhibiting anxiety, depression, drug or alcohol use, poor self-esteem, emotional disorders, and in fact most instances of rebellious behavior, the strict discipline of the boot camp environment may prove counterproductive instead, if it isn’t set up in a way that the discipline is coupled with Christian love and support.
Most boot camps in Wexford, Pennsylvania, on their own, will not speak to family concerns but return a somewhat more compliant teen to the same circumstances in which he struggled. Boys who attend boot camps are more likely to return to old habits. In fact, boot camps in Wexford, Pennsylvania are a short-term solution at best, and may be harmful to the teen at worst. Sadly, teens often revert to past behavior after returning home from short-term boot camps, because the length of the program doesn’t instill the attitude changes as a habit in their life.

Wexford is an unincorporated community in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, United States. The area known as Wexford is split among multiple municipalities, including Franklin Park, McCandless, Pine Township, and Marshall Township. It is named after County Wexford, Ireland.
Home to many upper-middle-class people, Wexford’s commercial landscape is dominated by a mixture of corporate chains, car dealerships, and a number of local small businesses, concentrated on the main thoroughfare of the “Wexford Flats”, U.S. Route 19. It is also home to what is considered to be one of the top high schools in Pennsylvania, North Allegheny Senior High School. Other schools in the area are Pine-Richland High School, and Vincentian Academy.
It was recently ranked the twenty-eighth best place to live by Money magazine, despite it being essentially a postal zip code and a general descriptor of a section of suburban Pittsburgh, not a formal town. The presence North Allegheny Senior High School, a large, well funded public high school, the numerous businesses, and a number of churches along the “Wexford Flats” gives the area a more distinct community identity than simply an otherwise unremarkable suburb in the Greater Pittsburgh Area. Adjacent to Wexford is North Park and North Park lake. This area is a great feature to the community featuring many hiking/biking trails, 5 mile paved running path around the lake, many pavilions for outdoor events, outdoor ice rink, golf course, dog parks, and local restaurants and shops. The lake is currently under construction including dredging and refinishing shore lines, but plans to be completed by 2012.
The Wexford area is a growing community with subdivisions and neighborhoods constantly increasing. To account for the immense increase in population in the past few years and for years to come, the county has finally been forced to make a change to Rt 19, the road that runs clear through the “flats”. This will be an ongoing project, with a projected due date of 2012. The four lane (two each way) road is prone to accidents, due to the amount of traffic and the difficulty in making turns onto side roads. The project includes adding a center turning lane starting before North Allegheny Senior High School to Church Road.
